Chapel Hill, N.C. — Many people have been frustrated with how vaccines have been administered across the Triangle. Some sites have had to turn away seniors who waited in long lines. Others were forced to wait in lines for more than 5 hours.
On Monday, UNC Health is opening up its vaccine clinics, but is not expecting long lines. People will have to make appointments before arriving to the clinic.
Monday morning, 850 people will be vaccinated at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill.
More than 10,000 coronavirus vaccine appointments are scheduled at UNC Health clinics this week for people 65 and older.
Appointments are full this week, so health officials suggest to check back next week for more appointments. If UNC receives more vaccine doses, more appointments will open up.
