HOW FAST ALL THOSE FILLED UP. >> GIANT EAGLE AND THE STEELERS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THEY WOULD BE OPENING UP APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING AT 9 A.M. TODAY. THEY FILLED 4000 SLOTS IN ABOUT AN HOUR. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, JOY FOR THOSE WHO GOT ONE, DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT. >> I LITERALLY AM IN TEARS. I’M SO HAPPY AND GRATEFUL. >> MISSY MORENO AND HER MOTHER WILL BE TWO OF THE FOUR THOUSAND TO GET THEIR FIRST DOSE AT HEINZ FIELD NEXT WEEK. COUNTLESS CLICKS, CALLS, WAITING, PAID OFF THIS MORNING WHEN REGISTRATION FOR THIS MASS VACCINATION CLINIC OPENED UP AND SHE GOT THROUGH. >> I’VE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER, I LITERALLY WAS RUNNING AROUND MY APARTMENT CRYING. LIKE, I’M SO GRATEFUL. >> 4000 IS A LOT. >> I WAS LIKE — THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. >> BUT NOT QUITE ENOUGH. CHRISTINE RAUKTIS IS LIKE MANY WE HEARD FROM TODAY — DID EVERYTHING RIGHT, WAS READY RIGHT WHEN REGISTRATION OPENED, WAITED, BUT BY THE TIME THE WAIT WAS OVER, ANOTHER UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT. >> I FEEL LIKE I CAN LIVE A FAIRLY NORMAL LIFE WITHOUT THE VACCINE, BUT I WANT TO MAKE MY WORLD SAFE FOR EVERYONE IN I >> THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION ON GIANT EAGLE’S VACCINATION PAGE TODAY — SOME CLICKING A LINK TO SIGN UP FOR OTHER VACCINES, NOT SO WE ARE HEARING FRUSTRATIONS ABOUT THAT AS WELL. GIANT EAGLE SAYING THEY ARE GOING TO OPEN A TOLL-FREE NUMBER STARTING AT NOON ON MONDAY TO SIGN UP HERE VIA PHONE FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS. WE HAVE THAT LINK ON WTAE.COM. MIKE: LET’S TALK BIG PICTURE HERE. WE’VE GOT CLINICS LIKE THE ONES GETTING THOUSANDS OF FIRST DOSES, WHEN WE HAVE ALSO REPORTED SMALLER PHARMACIES CAN’T GET HUNDREDS OF SECOND DOSES. DO WE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SUPPLY MOVING FORWARD? >> NOT THAT MUCH OTHER THAN THIS GENERAL SENSE OF OPTIMISM THAT WE ARE STARTING TO HEAR FROM OFFICIALS THAT SUPPLY WILL INCREASE. THEY WOULD NOT SCHEDULE 4001ST DOSES WITHOUT FEELING CONFIDENT ABOUT EVERYTHING GOING FORWARD. THAT SAID, WE HAVE TO RUN WITH THE DRUGMAKERS. PFIZER AND MODERNA AND NOW JOHNSON & JOHNSON COMBINED HAVE INDICATED THEY COULD VACCINATE CLOSE TO 90 MILLION PEOPLE, PUSH OUT THAT MANY DOSES IN MARCH ALONE. SOMETHING WE WILL KEEP TABS ON IN THE COMING WEEK
