In the past day, health officials in Georgia have confirmed nearly 2,500 new COVID-19 cases.

The Department of Public Health in Georgia confirmed nearly 2,500 new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

Monday saw 2,492 new confirmed cases and 348 Antigen positive cases.

That brings the statewide total to 775,466 confirmed cases and 168,229 Antigen positive cases.

Georgia is also reporting 13,361 confirmed deaths, an increase of 35 in the past day, and 51,928 hospitalizations, an increase of 86.

As of 3 p.m., February 8th, there have been 35,349 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 606 deaths.

  • Camden: 2,890 cases, 24 deaths
  • Chatham: 17,198 cases, 311 deaths
  • Effingham: 3,271 cases, 49 deaths
  • Glynn: 6,022 cases, 137 deaths
  • Liberty: 2,538 cases, 41 deaths
  • Long: 605 cases, 9 deaths
  • McIntosh: 555 cases, 11 deaths
