MADISON, Wis. — Public health officials in Madison and Dane County are amending requirements when it comes to face coverings and social distancing for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The changes to Emergency Order #14 go into effect Thursday and follow new guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

People who are fully vaccinated do not need to maintain six feet of physical distancing or wear a face covering:

  • When in an enclosed space where all people in the enclosed space are fully vaccinated
  • When in a n enclosed space with people from a single household who are not fully vaccinated and are not at an increase risk for severe COVID-19 illness.

People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 when it has been two weeks since they have received their final vaccination.
